It happened in the southbound lanes near mile marker 6.2 in Chester, police wrote in a report. A driver crashed off the right shoulder and their car overturned, blocking the right and center lanes, authorities said.
A driver behind that car immediately hit their brakes and applied their hazard lights before they were rear-ended by a PSP Ford Interceptor, according to police.
Two troopers were in the police vehicle at the time of the crash, authorities said. Neither they nor the driver they struck were injured, according to the report.
